About
Having founded the firm in 2018 after spending nearly a decade in the law and academia, Niki built a practice focused on civil litigation involving business, construction, real property disputes and intellectual property defence. The firm offers customized legal services in corporate and commercial litigation, civil disputes and appellate matters. She has appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Divisional Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and various tribunals. In addition, she has appeared before the Federal Court of Appeal in intellectual defence matters.
She studied English and European Law law in the United Kingdom, graduating in 2011, and thereafter completed a Masters in Law ( Sp. Civil Practice and Litigation, Intellectual Property and Pharmaceutical Law) in 2015 in San Diego, prior to being accredited with the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, and licensed by the Law Society of Ontario.
Between 2015 and 2023 she taught law at Seneca Polytechnic (nee, Seneca College) and was a contributor to Business Law textbooks for McGraw Hill. She curated programs for students and developed curriculum and acted as a principal for placement students for five years prior to their call.
She is a Board Member of the Hellenic Canadian Lawyers’ Association having developed, organized and kickstarted the Mentorship Program and Continuing Professional Development Program; a founding member and developer of the Pro Bono Committee and the Pro Bono Legal Clinic; she is a contributor to RODA (Roundtable of Diversity Associations) and she sits on the Diversity Council for the Ontario Bar Association.
Mentorship is a significant aspect of her contribution to the legal community. Between 2011 and 2018 she worked with Coutts Crane, a boutique firm in downtown Toronto, in civil litigation, intellectual property defence, criminal and family law. She is also an active member and volunteer of the Advocates’ Society.
In her spare time, she is an avid writer on all things legal and political; a Michelin Star follower and chef wannabe, she is also an amateur geologist with a love for seismology and oceanography.
Matrona is her first name.
